A LESSON FROM THE OSBORNS

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. -Hebrews 6:12

TL and Daisy Osborn went to India armed with theology to share the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. They failed woefully because the Hindus over there also had their own "gospel" message, which seemed to make more sense than theirs. They returned to America defeated and disappointed. They began to search for a minister, who was preaching the gospel message, not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit, and power (1 Corinthians 2:4). As they cried to God, one morning, the Lord Jesus walked into their room. He didn't say anything, but His presence alone was a message of love and acceptance to them.

Soon after, William Branham was in town, and Daisy went for one of the meetings and saw the power of God in manifestation. She told TL about the meeting, who at that time was conducting a convention for their denomination. Being prompted by the Spirit, he went for the next meeting. That was the turning point of his life. When he saw the raw demonstration of God's power, he began to hear in his head what he described as "A thousand voices," telling him that he could do the same thing. Right after that meeting and Daisy Osborn began holding healing meetings in their Church and saw many miracles. They had their first crusade in Jamaica, and many mighty miracles happened. The rest is history as they became arguably the most popular ministering couple of all time.

There is a lot we can learn from the lives of the Osborns today. They knew that they needed the demonstration of the power of God, so they began to look for someone who had what they needed. Today pride is the problem of many ministers, who aren't demonstrating the power of God but will not learn from those who are. The earnest expectation of the creature is not waiting for the theology of the sons of God but the manifestation. (Romans 8:19). Am I against theology? No. I am saying that words alone won't suffice. The power of God must be evident. People need to see the authentic and forceful power of God in manifestation. When we have criticized and condemned those who are doing the work of God with signs and wonders – how then can we learn from them? It will be dumb to expect what you don't respect.

I have seen blind eyes opened, deaf ears hear, the lame walk, stage four cancers, brain tumors disappeared, etc. But I had to learn from people that know better than me. The truth is that you don't know until you are doing it. If you've never seen a blind eye opened – someone who has knows better than you.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's "Atmosphere for Miracles" was my miracle school. I watched and studied every move the man of God made for many years, and I still do today. I would analyze how he walked, what he said, did, etc. I would then go back to my Bible to get scriptural backings for everything. One thing I found difficult to understand then was why he placed his feet on the foot of the sick person. My questions were answered when the Spirit of God took me to Joshua 3:13: "And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap."

A few years ago, in a dream, God showed me the man of God Prophet TB Joshua, and told me to learn from him. I began to watch Emmanuel TV, and my eyes were opened. The miracles in my ministry tripled. I'm now teaching other people; to do what I'm doing. Fulfilling the scripture that says "For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14). If only we would learn from one another, instead of criticizing each other, what a harvest we would rake in for the kingdom of our God.
