God wants you to know that you are incredibly special and that you are dear to His heart. If you look at the scriptures, you will discover that He always uses words of endearment when He talks about you.
One very prominent example is 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, a peculiar people…”
God says you are a chosen generation, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, and peculiar people. You are unique. You are extraordinary. You are special.
He says you are chosen.
What does it mean to be chosen?
It means to be separated from the lot — Out of many, God called you.
He has specifically chosen you, and that makes you special.
Now, when we say something is special, it means it is different from every other. It is uniquely special. The Bible says every time God thinks about you as His child; His heart is filled with joy. A clear illustration is what He said about Jesus. After John had baptized him and he came out of the water, God said, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.
At the time, Jesus was God’s only child, and that was His mindset about Jesus.
But guess what? After the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ, he is no longer the only begotten of the Father. He is now the firstborn among many brethren, many brothers, sisters, Hallelujah.
And guess what else? The same words that God said about Jesus is what God is saying about you. He’s saying, “This is my beloved son in whom I’m well pleased. This is my beloved daughter in whom I am well pleased.”
It is important to note that God’s love for you has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with what you have done or what you have not done. His love is unconditional!
When a woman gives birth to a baby and that baby is handed over to her, even though she went through severe pain, that pain is quickly forgotten. The deep love that she has for her child is overwhelming — Not because of any good or bad thing the child did but just because the child exists. This is the closest example of how God loves you…multiply by infinity.
He loves you just because you exist!
There is nothing that you can do to make God stop loving you —Absolutely nothing!
So, God wants you always to remember that you are special to Him. You are dear to His heart. The Bible says you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
God loves you, and you are special to God.
